At Cuadra San Cristóbal, Barragán constructs space through bold planes of color. Set against the monumental pink walls, a lower purple plane joins a composition where architecture, landscape, and color are understood as one unified whole.
Color does not appear merely to coat architecture: it helps define planes, create depth, and alter how forms are perceived. At San Cristóbal, the pinks and purples contrast with the vegetation, earth, water, and sky, integrating nature into the composition itself.
