Inspired by Capilla de las Capuchinas

In Capilla de las Capuchinas, Barragán makes light an integral part of architecture. It does not merely illuminate space: it guides it, filters it, and allows it to shift as it meets walls and color. The result is an interior where matter seems to transform as the day progresses, and where light directly participates in the contemplative experience of the place.

CAPUCHINAS draws from that relationship. Barón & Vicario takes the geometry of one of the chapel’s key elements and abstracts it. The piece moves beyond seeing light as something that simply falls upon a surface: it allows light to enter the material, flow through it, and reveal color from within.
